While there are so many Hollywood starlets, Ashlee Simpson is not one of the shining stars right now. Though she is still showing up on red carpets and in awards shows, she’s a singer and dancer who is known more for her past than for her present accomplishments. Married to Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy, Ashlee Simpson is an example of so many things that could have gone right, but just haven’t panned out as good as they should have.

Her Famous Sister

Ashlee Simpson first showed up in Hollywood when her sister, Jessica, began to film a reality show with her then husband Nick Lachey. Ashlee should visit Jessica during some of the filming and then eventually started her own reality show in a time slot next to her sister’s. The Ashlee Simpson Show was a reality show that featured Ashlee writing and recording her new album, providing a reality show/commercial for her upcoming album, “Autobiography.” It worked at the time to boost both of the sisters’ careers. But when Jessica started to go downhill, so did Ashlee.

Her Famous Marriage

While the career of Ashlee Simpson might not be that great, her marriage seems to be one of the few that has lasted tough times. In 2008, she gave birth to a son with Wentz. Her marriage seems to be one that’s going okay, with minimal play from the tabloids. Of course, that could change any minute now since marriages seem to be disposable in the land of pretty people.

Ashlee Simpson has produced three musical albums:

• I Am Me
• Bittersweet World

But what Ashlee Simpson is most known for is when she was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live and she was caught lip-synching during her performance. This was played over and over on YouTube and online, helping to make her a pariah in the music business. And the constant barrage of excuses from her father, Joe, didn’t help. In time, she was able to get back some semblance of a reputation, but the incident continues to be parodied.

Ashlee Simpson is a person who seems to have some talent and even more luck. But while the music industry might not be very pleased with her, there’s always room for a comeback. Just ask Britney Spears.
